Visitation parishioners are committed to feeding our hungry brothers and sisters. Check out the many ways you can become involved in helping feed the poor of our community.
Baskets are located in the Narthex to collect non-perishable food items for area food pantries. Our food collections are allocated as follows:
1st Sunday of the month - St. Francis Xavier Parish
2nd Sunday of the month - Bishop Sullivan Center, Troost location
3rd Sunday of the month - Guardian Angels
4th Sunday of the month - Redemptorist Social Services Center
5th Sunday of the month (when applicable) - St. Francis Xavier Parish
Delivery of our food collections to the various food pantries is coordinated by Logan Freeman.
Morning Glory Cafe serves breakfast on weekdays and lunch on weekends to those in need in downtown Kansas City. Visitation parishioners volunteer on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 6:30-8:30 am. Volunteers serve and clean up. Coordinator: Sandie McCray.
One City Cafe (part of the Bishop Sullivan Center) serves meals daily to those in need in the neighborhood around 39th and Troost. Visitation parishioners serve and bus the meal for guests at the soup kitchen on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 4:00-7:00 pm. Coordinator: Bill Staggs
