The Baptism Ministry Team at Visitation accompanies parents through the first year of their child’s new life in Christ. Through this accompaniment, the Ministry Team hopes to affirm and activate each parent’s own baptismal call; nourish their growing family’s relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church through the Sacraments; and demonstrate the lifelong support offered by a parish community. Team members may be involved in any of the following ways: provide hospitality for baptism preparation,
assist the priest at the Sacrament of Baptism (training provided), recruit/coordinate the Baptism Visitor outreach, follow-up with families on the first anniversary of their child’s baptism, host regular gatherings for young families, plan an annual Baptism Blessing & Reception (Solemnity of the Baptism of the Lord.) Confirmation curriculum follows the diocesan guidelines. Contact: Chris Sanders, x1309

Visitation parish is blessed by the continued gathering of Small Faith-sharing Groups for nearly two decades. Some of these Small Groups have been praying and reading Scripture together for many years. The Faith Formation Team has enabled these small Christian communities by curating a variety of textual discussion/prayer guides and providing organizational support to group leaders. In 2020, the lessons of the pandemic reinforced the importance of these Small Groups formed between trusted family, friends and neighbors. Small faith groups meet to read and discuss the upcoming Sunday scriptures throughout the season of Lent; other seasonal opportunities may also be offered. No matter if you have been a part of a group every year OR never participated in one, please consider joining a Small Group this year or starting your own. Contact: Teresa Albright, x1306
